Located at 949 Burke Rd Camberwell, Classic Line Tailoring offers a full tailoring service for men and women's clothing. With thousands of fabrics in the shop to choose from and a team of dedicated tailors who are known to work into the wee hours, the design and tailoring possibilities are seamingly endless.

When designing a suit, a number of aspects are taken into consideration says owner Nick Raftopoulos. "Matching the tailoring to the personality of the person as well as their complexion is what makes tailoring a cut above buying clothes off the rack."

"The skill of tailoring is in making individual garments, while the specialty lies in our ability to fit someone to perfection."

As well as offering a full tailoring service Classic Line Tailoring fixes up ill fitting suits bought at retail stores. "Often, that's how we get new customers."

Although the shop has a reputation for traditional tailoring, there is also an emphasis on creating more variation. For example putting a different lining in suits makes the look a bit edgy, says Nick. The staff at Classic Line Tailoring, including Nick who is in his early 30s make sure they keep up with the fashion trends, so as to cater to younger people, while still maintaining the classic style, cloth and tailoring that they built their reputation on.

Additionally, there has been an increase in the number of women who are requesting tailor made suits.

Classic Line Tailoring is open from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am to 2:00pm, but often "the candle is burning brightly in the back room" therefore clients can make special requests to come after hours. Also, home and office visits are available which include bringing fabric samples.
